Today we managed to sort all our seeds in order of sowing. It makes it a lot easier, when one starts sowing seed flats, to know ahead of time what your planting and when. At times it can seem overwhelming but, it's quite beneficial in the long run.
We'll be firing up the greenhouses this Saturday (02/23/08) and we'll start planting the seeds for a glorious display of color that can only take your breath away come spring. I always look forward to seeing the seeds start poking up through the soil. I find it very relaxing and enjoyable to go out every morning to the smell of the moist soil and the hints of green from the flats that have germinated. I will post pictures from time to time so that you can see some of the progression I see.
For now, time to rest up knowing that Spring at Mosswood Gardens is only two days away.

The snow is coming
Last year we had a major snow storm on Valentine's Day. This year it looks to be happening a day before. This is quite interesting as I don't believe snowstorms are supposed to be predictable. We're expecting 7 or more inches with possible icing. I normally would be bothered but as I have not started up the greenhouses yet I'm not too concerned.
Our website is doing very nicely. My wife, Heidi, designed it and is maintaining it. She really has a wonderful eye for design. She designed someone else's website as well and it's doing only slightly better than ours. She was supposed to maintain it also but, the people that hired her want everything done for free so they called in a sister of theirs to play with it. Goes to show that a contract is always the best way to go no matter how icky sweet people pretend to be. It's a shame people can't be real anymore. Eventually, though, the true colors always shine through.
Anyway, the seeds are ordered and on their way. We are chomping at the bit to get started like a racehorse in the gates. I always look forward to this time of year because I can taste and smell spring around the corner. I love it!
Oh...time to order hardgoods again.
Never gets boring, that's for sure. :)

And so it begins
Hello All,
I am now part of the blogging empire and I will have my words out there for all to see. I'll most likely discuss my plant nursery business but, I'm also known to vent politics. I'll keep those to a minimum as owning a nursery is an amazing adventure for me.
Talk to you soon
